The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is Nigeria's statutory lead agency for road safety administration, traffic management and accident prevention. Since 1988 it has worked to create a safe motoring environment across all 37 states and the Federal Capital Territory — combining highway enforcement, driver licensing, public education and emergency response.
Through Drive Alive — its technology partnership with tsboi.ai — the Corps now blends field operations with AI-powered public engagement: a digital safety pledge, crowd-sourced hazard reporting, a live road-risk map and a free Safety Academy, all designed to make every journey safer.
Federal Road Safety Corps Established
Created by the Federal Government of Nigeria (Decree 45) as the lead agency for road safety administration and traffic management across the federation.
Full Operationalisation
The Corps was formally commissioned and deployed nationwide, taking charge of highway patrol, driver licensing oversight and road accident response.
FRSC Act Reaffirmed
The FRSC Act cemented the Corps' statutory mandate — road safety, traffic control, accident prevention and public enlightenment — and empowered its nationwide expansion.
